so, we really want to take the kids to Disneyland and Sea World...also the beach etc...and we are aiming for October...that way I will be back to work and making money again....
trying to pay in cash for everything there, so we are trying to start saving...however, I need tips on nice places to stay for a good deal. Anyone love where they stayed? we really would love a hotel w/a mini kitchenette...also, very close by the park.
Also would need a hotel in San Diego....anywhere fun and close by the beach?
I think we will get the passes from Costco...seems like the best deal.

We stayed at the Homewood Suites Anaheim (Google it, I tried to paste a link but it was like 14 lines long). I can't say enough good things about this place...seriously...cookies in the lobby 24/7, free dinner Mon-Thurs, free breakfast every day (and good stuff, too, not just packaged Danish). There's a bedroom with 2 queen beds and a TV and also a separate living room with a pull out couch that sleeps 2 and another TV. The kitchenette had a dishwasher (fabulous for sanitizing baby stuff) and a fridge and a cooktop and dishes and all that jazz. It's not close enough to walk, but there's a shuttle out front. I actually ended up liking that because by the time we were done with a day at the park, no one felt like walking clear back to a hotel anyway.
I was just going to suggest Homewood Suites. Some friends of ours were at Disneyland the same time we were last time we went and they stayed there...we went and visited them and thought it was so nice that we will probably stay there next time we go.
October should be a good time to go. If you go over Fall break it will be a little busy (all the UT people go), but we've been during that time and it wasn't too bad.
Also, during October they do the trick-or-treating at California Adventure. We did it one year and it was super fun! I think it's like $30ish per person, but it was really fun.
I think we are headed back in December and am super excited! Have fun!
Barbie and Reese stay at a nice place with a kitchenette. Give her a call. Sooo fun!
We're staying at the Holiday Inn Suites that is in walking distance to Disneyland. We got rooms for really cheap and I know my parents did a 2 room suite w/ kitchenette with my sisters family for super cheap. We're going in August so I'll let you know what we think of the hotel but I'm sure you can get even better rates going in October!
Not sure how much the tickets are at Costco, but we just got back from Disneyland a few weeks ago and paid only $250 for 2 adults and 1 kid for 3 days!! The normal price was $522. When you buy 3 days, you get 2 free (disneyland.com). After we bought the tickets, we put them on KSL classifieds to sell the other 2 days we weren't using. We found a family that needed the tickets for the specific time period that matched ours and they met us in Cali and paid us $250. Saves them and saves you. Win-win! :)
