baseball.

honestly, I never liked baseball.  Doesn't get much more boring than baseball....just my opinion.  Until Kai started playing "real" baseball two years ago...not Rec. ball or Tball...but real ball where not everyone gets a trophy...and you only play if you are good...otherwise you sit on the bench :(
now I really enjoy it (still won't watch a game on tv)...but have only missed 2 of Kai's games while I had the baby...

anyway, it has been a LOOOOONG Spring of flag football and baseball....tons of practices and games...but we are almost done......
I was counting down the days....2 games left...tonight and Wednesday.....
until Kai's coach called us and said he wants to have Kai try out for the All Star team.....when? tomorrow at 8am....ugh....

I almost didn't tell Kai...almost :)
but decided that would be mean....
so I asked him if he was interested and really emphasised the fact that there would be more games, more practices etc......
thinking he would say no and want to get on with his Summer.....
but no.
he is trying out tomorrow a.m.....bright and early.
A small part of me thinks ugh.....but mostly I am proud of him for going for it....not knowing if he will make the team, but putting himself out there.....you have to be asked to try out, so already I told him that was an honor.....
we'll see what happens......
I really think baseball and basketball are his "things".....(Juice won't let the boys play tackle football yet...and I agree.....it is such a crucial time for the physical growth of kids, that it makes me too nervous to do tackle football this early)
he really does a great job and is learning tons.....he plays 1st base and loves getting those boys out right as they are running with all their mite to the base......
so I guess I will put on my happy mom face and be supportive of maybe more games, more practices......
and to think we have 2 more boys....
we have a lot of sports ahead of us.
however, I told Juice that Cash is going to be an artist and not an athlete....ha.  :)  I will try to work on that.

I'll let you know how tryouts goes.
so here's to more hot dogs and nachos at the ballpark for dinner!!
Love you Kai and your determination!

That is awesome! It is always a great moment when you know your child is excellent at something.
