am sooo excited to announce that we get to go on a little vacation.....Las Vegas! We are going to take the 6 hr. drive w/3 kids in tow! Our goal is to RELAX! No theme parks...no agenda...nothing. We will be hanging out in the hotel, swimming, swimming, and swimming! We Googled "best Vegas pool" and found The Mandalay Bay....the pool is awesome! It has 11 acres of pool/manmade beach area....sand and all! It also has a huge lazy river that kids can take tubes on that winds around the pool area...and, there is a WAVE pool.....w/fun waves that come crashing down....there are many pools there...I think 4...and then a "private" adult pool.... ;)

This is a cheap, budgeted vacation....but the kids won't even know.....I found rooms for $69/night with coupon codes that I found on the internet....we are staying 4 nights.....and a tank of gas there, one back...and packing some coolers w/food...snacks! It will be pretty affordable! Lots cheaper than the Disney hotels that charge close to $400 a night...crazy!
We plan on walking around, checking out different hotels, shops etc....also, in our hotel there is a HUGE aquarium...called The Shark Reef....w/over 2000 creatures! We want to visit the M & M store too! So, i'm sure we'll find lots to do....but I am just so excited that it's going to work out! We are going in April....and I can hardly wait! However, not sure about the drive down w/the kids...but i'm sure we'll survive.

Omg, that is soooo awesome Michelle! It sounds perfect, too, and nice and affordable. You guys are going to have a blast, can't wait to see the pics. I am trying to come up with a mini-vacation or two for us that won't break the bank as well.

I have been to Mandalay Bay. It really is perfect. At the time I thought "this is someplace I wouldn't mind taking kids to." Who'd have thought - in Vegas? You never even have to leave the hotel to have a real adventure. I also appreciated the layout. You didn't have to weave in and out of any smoky places to get where you wanted to go. I thought it was family-friendly. Have fun!

Oh, there is tons to do in Vegas for kids... alot of people think its not the best place for kids but there really is a ton for them, even better there is a lot of free stuff for families too. Sadly, some of the stuff has gone away over the years as Vegas got over their "family vacation" idea but thankfully not all of it!
