so, my husband who is a VP at a JR. High School...says these are the newest trends at his school...I guess they were created to bring awareness and raise money for breast cancer research...however the jr. high kids (as jr high kids are) think they are pretty cool to wear....
anyway, my husband had to get over the intercom at his school via the tv in all the classrooms...and tell the children at the school that they are no longer allowed to wear I Love Boobies bracelets during school hours...because they violate the school's policy of explicit language etc...
I wish I could have been there to watch him discuss this over the television....he was pretty nervous the night before....too funny!
What do you think? should kids be allowed to wear these in school? I guess it's controversial all over the US...some allow kids to wear them as long as they are turned inside out....

We think "not" at our house. Does that surprise anyone? Probably not, LOL.
BTW, that's REALLY funny about Juice. *I* would have loved to see that too. :D
Kai told me that there are kids at their school wearing them..guess they have not banned them there? I don't think these kids are wearing them to support BC awareness...more like getting a little attention.
I don't think any kid is wearing them to support BC awareness unless they have an immediate family member. However, I think I should by Nate some for a laugh. I wish Juice had recorded his speech, I don't know how he did it without giggling. I'm so juvenile.
we have a few in the drawer that he confiscated :)
and I would have LOVED to see it too...wouldn't be so bad if it were just intercom...but it was tv..viewed in the classrooms...
the night before he was practicing what he was going to say and he kept asking me "do you think I HAVE to say "boobies?"...ha! I was like...yep! He was afraid that he would smile when he said it...ha!
Oh seriously...I would have paid to see him say that to a bunch of hormone raging teens without smiling.
My brother is a principle of a high school in Long beach Cali.... he had to do the same thing ON THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL last week. He has over 300 bracelets in his office. He felt bad because he did KNOW that a few of the girls wearing them were in fact supporting breast cancer because their moms have cancer, but he still had to take them away. He said at the welcome back assembly "if you want to support breast cancer, wear a pink shirt to school, or tie a pink ribbon on your back pack, but BOOBY BRACELETS are not allowed" His fiance said he BLUSHED when he said BOOBY hahahaha
oh. my. gosh.
I read this last night and shared it with my running buddy this morning. We were both laughing so hard we had to stop running. Poor Juice! I can't imagine saying that on tv... I totally would have blushed like crazy.
As for supporting breast cancer- I feel it is inappropriate for them to be worn in schools. It definitely falls into the explicit lanuguage category.
On the other hand- I've been dying to get my hands on one of those "Save 2nd Base" shirts for Steve. Although I can't imagine him ever wearing it where anyone would see it... he'd blush too. Gosh- you'd think for how out-spoken we are we wouldn't blush so easily...
