so....just when we start to get things paid off and doing good, Murphy calls....right? Our A/C went out....it is only 3 1/2 years old...so the part is under warranty, however the LABOR and freon (or whatever it's called) is not....so $1200 for that....$330 for a new motor for the a/c....ugh....and, part won't be in Utah until Friday or Saturday of this week....soooo....we are moving out for a week to my parents' house.....(we will come back daily and check and make sure our house isn't melting) :).....
the house is 85' inside and rising....there is no way we could live there a week w/no a/c....ugh.....however kids are LOVING the fact that we are at grandma's house...they have a fun pool etc....and it's kind of like a vacation! Their house is just perfect and I feel like i'm at a Bed and Breakfast....so i'm not really complaining....just bummed that it had to happen....grrrr.....
the a/c people say that the a/c could have been installed improperly, which is why it has gone out so fast....however, no real way to prove that. We don't have to replace the entire a/c...but close.....anyway.....happy it's just that and not my children's health....and good I am going back to work asap so we can pay for this!

just wondering .. did you get a 2nd opinion? I know a great a/c guy that is honest & cheap. Doug or Curtis @ DC Air in South Jordan .. (801) 254-5573
thanks Christy...we did get two opinions...but I am going to hang on to this number you gave me because you just never know...thanks a bunch!
our A/C went out after a YEAR. We used it for one summer, and then last summer we turned it on before we moved out, and it didnt work. Liberty homes actually fixed it for free because about 5 homes had the same issue. There was some recalled part or something. I was SOOOO hot for about 3 days.
How great that you can go vacation at Grandma's until it's fixed! It's those kinds of "vacations" that my kids like best. What a bummer that it's broken after such a short time!
