growing up I remember camping ALL the time. My grandparents owned some property up by Rockport, and we camped all the time....I have so many memories of my Grandpa Bates and camping...he used to play the harmonica and I would dance with him...it was so much fun! He built zip lines down the mountain and swings in the trees....he also built a huge cabana that you could go sit in away from the bugs.....it was so much fun! I would do anything to have that property now and be able to take my kids there....but my grandmother sold the property after my grandfather died.

I think my favorite memories as a child were camping....but unfortunately I married a guy who is not a camper.....but....I am trying to change that!!

I have reserved a camp spot for next weekend and me, Juice and the kids are going camping for 3 days....in a TENT! I know....I know.....and we are looking forward to doing a LOT more camping...(well, if this trip turns out).

We don't really know what we are doing, but it can't be that hard, right? I of course know how to camp, but have never been camping as a MOM...only as a kid....

We plan on doing s'mores, hot dogs, sandwiches, hikes, exploring and just hanging out......if you have any tips or fun things to do, please leave them as a comment....or if you have easy food ideas! We don't have any equipment, except a tent and a cooler.....but I am borrowing a lantern and stove from a neighbor......if you can think of anything else we HAVE to have.....please tell!
