Hooray!

a huge victory for millions of people that are suffering from illnesses without a cure....such as cancer, diabetes, spinal cord injury and lots and lots of other diseases. Obama has reversed Bush's stem cell for medical research policy....and federal funds are now available to research the use of stem cells to treat many, many diseases.....this gives hope to many, many families...and hope that a cure could be around the corner.

If you are against this, I ask you to come to my work, a children's hospital, one day...and go explain to a family that's child just has been diagnosed with cancer, why you think their life is not worthy of trying to save, through stem cell research.....and if you are pro-life and are also against stem cell research (which all pro-life are NOT against stem cell research...ex. Nancy Reagan) isn't that child that has cancers' life just as important? so are you pro life...but only some lives? This is close to my heart...as my brother had leukemia at age 15 and have had many family members w/cancer...and a few with diabetes....and would do ANYTHING to help them find a cure.

I cannot believe that we wasted so many years of possible research while Bush was in office....sad..but we have to move on.

also remember...these are stem cells from embryos that are discarded, donated to science etc....if you have invetro....and have 16 fertilized eggs....2-3 are implanted.....and if they take, you are pregnant.....then you still have 13 fertilized eggs that are frozen.....well, if you don't want any more babies.....your fertilized eggs will either be destroyed, donated to science, or donated to another couple......if you chose to donate them to science.....now there are more options because federal funds now are available to fund the research.....
