Haiti.

( I watched them on CNN rescue this 11 year old girl..and learned she later died from very minor injuries because of unclean facilities and overloaded healthcare workers...so sad.)
We watched the 20/20 special on the earthquake in Haiti with the kids tonight.....they were so sad for the people there that have lost family members....they also were in shock that so many people were killed....maybe it was wrong to let them watch this, but I really don't think so.  It's so sad how these natural disasters happen in these places where people are already so poor and heathcare is so hard to come by....really makes you appreciate the United States...clean drinking water...health care.....etc...and still we complain about so much.....so sad.

it breaks my heart. I wish I had more money to send to help. I felt so cheap donating $50 to the red cross the other day! but I did all I could! I want to go there and bring home lots of kids to take care of!!! Wanna come with me =)

Michelle- I find myself glued to the TV! I wish I could go over there and help, but I did send $50 to the Red Cross and I felt good after that. Every little bit helps!!

I think it's absolutely a good thing to watch this with your children. We come by things so easily hear and in other countries. We all need to be reminded.

I think it is great that you watched this with your kids. We watched the news from our cozy hotel room in Disneyland and I felt heartbroken that I was going to spend the day playing with my kids in the happiest place on earth while so many were hurting. Our kids absolutely need to be aware of what life is like for others so they learn to appreciate what they have and more importantly to be generous with others.
