Thank you!

We want to send out a HUGE thank you to everyone that has helped us get Juice to the inauguration!!! My parents, Brenda, Grandma Madsen, Susan C., The Verrinders.....between the Inauguration ticket, plane ticket, cash, gloves, boots, more cash...etc....we could not have done this without you...and I mean that 110%. This really means so much not only to Juice, but to Juice for our children...he wants them to appreciate how important this is...and what better way to show them, then to go....

and, my kids don't know this yet...but I am letting them stay home from school on Tuesday to enjoy the Inaugural festivities...I think it's pretty important, and they will probably remember where they were on this day for the rest of their lives! And since they won't be showing it at their school, I don't want them to miss it...and what better history lesson that that!
also....tune in tonight on the Disney Channel...my grandmother just informed me that they are showing an Inauguration special for kids tonight! I found it at 6pm...but I think it comes on a few times...

Hi Michelle,
I am so thrilled to know somebody who is actually going to be at the inauguration! Tim and I are truly excited for Juice to have this opportunity and we were happy to be able to help out. I applaud your decision to keep your kids home to they can watch the events on T.V. We have the same problem here in Idaho with schools not showing this on T.V. to the students. I think it's unbelievable and a real dissappointment. My feeling is that if educators don't recognize this as one of the biggest events in our history then we have a serious problem. They are really missing the boat.
Love,
Colleen

I'm still waiting to hear how this came about. If I hadn't been reading your blog I wouldn't even have known he was going...

Thanks for sharing about the kids' inauguration program. I hadn't heard that one either.

I think there have been a few posts about it? anyway...a friend of Juice's got him and his good friend Keith (who played football up at the U) each a ticket to the inauguration...well, we didn't think he would be able to go after researching how much airfare was....well, at my mom's house on Xmas day Grandma Madsen and Tim, Colleen and Emily were there for breakfast and it had come up there that Juice had gotten a ticket to the Inauguration...he didn't make a big deal about it, but Tim said "well, you're going right?" and Juice said something like..."nah, tickets are soooo expensive to fly out there" and Tim said he had frequent flier miles and would fly Juice out there w/them....we were in shock, but Tim went to town and got on the computer right then and got Juice all set up w/a ticket....well, then other people stepped in and donated cash for his trip, and it all came together...it was amazing...he is there now and is just in heaven! What an opportunity!!! So we are so grateful for everyone that helped him get there...I thought I had posted about it a few times...you must have missed it :) but yep, he's there..and I can't believe schools aren't showing it in the classrooms...crazy....so, that's why I am keeping the kids home...anyway, that's the story! And he is even attending some fancy events while he is there...I am hoping he is taking lots of pictures....
