A really cool thing happened today...the school Juice is VP at recieved lots of money and help today from Comcast. Comcast picked 10 schools in Utah to help make their schools look nicer.....Juice networked with people he knows, and other community members to help Comcast out today, and had 200 volunteers.....Juice also approached the LDS missionaries and local ward...and they were all eager to help...so they all got their work clothes on and they really cleaned up the school.....they had people painting murals in the school, they created a beautiful Zen garden area to beautify the grounds.....lots of cleaning, painting etc....and Comcast paid for everything and food for everyone....
He said it was a really cool thing to watch the whole community come together, even teachers from the school came out today to help.....there is a little blurb about it on KSL.com...
Comcast donates to Title One schools
May 3rd, 2008 @ 6:26pm
(KSL News) Comcast donated more than $52,000 to 10 local schools today on behalf of its Comcast Cares Day volunteers.
More than 2,300 volunteers helped spruce up Title One Schools from Cache Valley to Spanish Fork. Title One schools are schools where the majority of students are low-income.
The volunteers painted classrooms and playgrounds and planted trees and shrubs to help make the learning environment a little brighter.
