And he LOVES it and so do the kids! Kase is playing up to the 6th grade team so we could put the boys on the same team for once. I love it! Also Kase is the second tallest on the team and got an interception today and ran it almost for a touchdown. So he's just fine on the big boy's team.
The kids are having a blast and I love love that they are on the same team!

Annual Summer Tie-dye...

every Summer the kids and I tie-dye...this is the 4th Summer..we are getting good!

here are a few....we did 16 shirts, one skirt, one bandana.

we usually buy a pack of shirts...and then find what we have around the house too.

Trax!

we can now walk to the top of our street....hop on Trax
and go alllll the way to the U of Utah football games! Or the Bees game...or Gardner Village....
Today was the Food For Fare day where you bring a canned good and can ride for FREE...so we did!
It was so much fun..and lots of neighbors were doing the same thing.
I love that you don't even have to get your baby out of the stroller...you just plop it on! and off you go!
too easy!

Today we rode to Gardner Village...stopped by the toy store and Candy Shop....
ate FUDGE!
Got bags of candy....walked around....fed the ducks.....
and then rode home...
it was so much fun...and SO easy!
We plan on doing this quite often.
Cash loved the "choo choo" we rode on....

got our bag of candy...polka dot dress...and gold sparkly shoes! (anything goes on Trax...if you've been on it before..you know this)

I know...shocking.
However, deep down inside I am a very crafty person...I just usually think I don't have the supplies or time to do it....but here is something i've wanted to do for a while...it is part one of three that I hope to get done.

I took an old canvas picture that I have had for years and was in storage...found kids artwork (mostly from preschool/kindergarten years)
and I mod/podged them to the canvas. I cut some out so that they would fit better...I also made sure the kids' names all were visable so we could remember who's was who's....
and voille!
oh also, if you are covering up a dark canvas...which I initially was going to do..but found this one instead....you could paint the canvas first with Gesso (my uber crafty friend Melissa S. gave me this tip).

Our house needed more color...and I think it looks fabulous! Kids are super proud of it too! I have 2 more smaller ones to do....and we alllll know kids create plenty of artwork for many many more.....

tip: I recommend that you COUNT the artwork and make SURE there is equal representation of all the kids (Cash only has one on here...but for big kids)...because you KNOW the first thing they do is count them to make sure one kid didn't get more pics. up than another ;)

We just got home from one of our all time favorite trips...ever.
And the best part is we didn't even have to do a Disney theme park!
We took a road trip (12 hours...drove straight through w/2-3 potty stops). I packed lots of healthy snacks/sandwiches/drinks etc. so that we didn't have to eat the crap at the fast food restaurants or gas stations....this was smart..since we would be eating out our entire trip.
Kids did AWESOME on the trip! I cannot believe how good they were. I was expecting the worst...but got the best. We stopped by Redbox the night before and got 3 movies...and off we went...
kids listened to their iPods and read and even took some naps...it was great!
Cash watched some Barney/Blues Clues and was happy about 95% of the time...
Juice and I had a great time talking....I don't remember ever talking to him this much..it was so fun.
I will definately drive again next time...we saw so many great places...and we researched places as we drove through them on the iPad (that my dad let us borrow).

La Jolla Coves/Shore...our most favorite place...we spent the entire day there...kids used their boogie boards...and had a blast!

the best part is that Juice is now off work for the entire month of July...
so we really don't have to come back for a while....
and we may not...

and a bird here at home...
so we REALLY may not come back :)
I just can't wait to NOT go to Disneyland...and to spend our days snorkeling in La Jolla Cove
and on a whale watching cruise on the 4th of July!
oh and sit by the pool...beach....repeat....pool...beach...repeat...

eat....
sleep....
we have never taken the kids on a 12 hour road trip...so this will be interesting....but thank goodness for DVD players in our Tahoe...
going to hit up Redbox on the way...and off we go!
and definately NOT taking a computer with!

Extreme Makeover Home Edition...

I only have a second to blog...will post more later...but the Extreme Home Makeover came to our neighborhood....the family is actually a boy that comes up to Primary Children's Hospital...no more deserving family....
I got to volunteer last night....I helped set up the inside...it was pretty much all done...just got to help put the finishing
touches on it....It was awesome! I was there from 8pm to 2am....if you didn't get to volunteer it's a bummer...
it really was the coolest experience.
I didn't take pics of the inside because we signed a paper saying we wouldn't....
but the house is amazing! I will give details about the inside of the house on another post....
Cannot believe they built this house in 7 days! I guess the foundation dries in 2 hours
with the special stuff they add to it.
So cool! And so happy for the Gomez family to be part of our neighborhood!

Juice, my Dad, my brother and I have been working hard (ok...I worked the least hard...but someone has to watch the rugrats...I did plant the Wisteria though)....
on our new deck.
It's close to done...here are a few pictures.....I can't wait until the Wisteria grows and I get the pretty purple flowers hanging down!
The deck is HUGE....but we have been out there almost all day ever day since we started building it....
it's so nice to sit out on and read the newspaper...while Cash plays in the sandbox!
I love it! I love that my dad is so willing to always help out...he really can build anything.
I'll post a picture when it's complete...
guess we have to have some more neighbor parties now!

so...I am pretty proud of Kai and I.
He had to make a volcano for the last day of school that would errupt...and here is what we came up with.
There is a hole under the cardboard so you can slip it over the 2Liter bottle of D.Coke...
add the Mentos...
and voille!
it got 2nd place! it was awesome!
We made it so that it would be waterproof and so that we could use it again and again....
then Kai painted it.....and yep...pretty cool!
We are not crafty people...so we are proud of this :)

And yeah...it kind of looks like a big pile of poop.....I know you were thinking that !!! :)

we usually go over to SoDa Row and the lake....so much fun!
I love how our neighborhood has so many parks...there is so much to do as a family w/out spending any money!

Secretly Spoiled Photo Shoot...

So a few months ago, Chloe was asked to be in a photo shoot for a catalog....we did it because
she is getting some new outfits out of it! :)
Tonight was the photo shoot...it was up in Layton....here are a few candid shots with her in one of the outfits...the jean capris were my favorite! I love that they wanted her hair all natural!
And NO makeup!
She had a ton of fun and got the coolest goodie bag after!
I have no clue when the catalog comes out..but i'll post it when it does.

family project for kindergarten...

Chloe's end of the year project for Kindergarten was to do a project together as a family...so this is what we did.....it was her idea and then we all helped....took pictures for the display etc...and put the final project in a pizza box that will be displayed at the school's history fair...
it had to be an invention...and she wanted to invent a Lego mug....
of course everyone needs one of these! She says that then you can change it how you want....and play with it while you are drinking :)

As you can tell, I have been slacking on the blogging .....
but we have been super duper busy.....baseball is 2 games/2practices a week....but we love it! It is so much fun for our family to go together to the games....and Kai looks so cute in his uniform :)
He is a great player and is excelling at 1st base! I love that they play many different sports....it's fun to do different things each season as a family.
However this year has been crazy with ALLLL the rainouts!! You get everyone there, all the stuff set up....then POOF! It rains...and the game is postponed....
we have 2 more weeks of baseball...and then I am so happy to report that we are doing NO sports this Summer....
we plan on spending most of our time at the pool and on some vacations.
Juice has the entire month of July off....and I took the month off of work, so we hope to just play play play!

here are some candid shots from Chloe's dance picture day....it was a long day but she had fun wearing make-up etc.....
her recital is June 11th at Kingsbury Hall at 1030am....
there are 3 performances that day....along with a full day of dress rehearsal the day before....
but the fun part is that the Monday after, her dance studio, UDA has rented out Cowabunga Bay for their end of the year family apppreciation party and we all get to go there for free....so that will be lots of fun!

this time they set up my sea salt scrub (used a LOT) and a bowl of warmish/cold water
and gave me a fabulous pedicure.....while I was watching The Biggest Loser....
Chloe then started to also do my hair with a tube of super duper gel...
it was fabulous.
Love that they are always thinking of sweet things to do for me....I hope they grow up to do this for their spouses too :)

two dumb things I did:

1. took my 3 kids to their well-checks and Cash had a "horrible ear infection" in both ears...and I didn't know ;(

2. missed Cash's 6 month vaccinations! HOW DID I DO THAT!??? I swear when I was in the ped. office in Sept. he said "i'll see you guys at 1 year!"...so I had that in my head...and today I found out that I was suppossed to bring him in in November....oops! So we caught him up, however he had to have 5 shots today ;( poor baby!! He has been so healthy, and hasn't had to go to the ped. for a sick visit...so I am sure if we did they would have mentioned it...but this is the first time he's been in since Sept...which is good!...and bad :( anyway....couldn't believe it...I have never been this far behind on shots...yikes! Oh well....it's really not a big deal..I know...just feel like a slacker mom/nurse today!

our hotel

we will be on our way to San Diego! Woohoo! We are driving to CA for the first time ever (I personally am kind of excited to drive....hope the kids cooperate!)

we will be there for 8 days...relaxing! We will NOT be going to Disneyland this time and I am excited about that...I wanted a trip where we just stay at a nice resort and swim all day and go to the beach..and shop etc...we may possibly end up going to Legoland..ONLY beause Kase is obsessed w/Legos...I have heard it's not so great...but we'll see.

we got an awesome deal on our hotel rooms from Priceline. We are staying at the Loews Coronado Resort on the beach....we are going over the 4th of July and they have all kinds of activities there on the beach over the holiday...also fireworks over the water...smores in the hotels' firepits...and movies at night in the pool for the kids....

so excited! Now I just need some tips on how to survive the road trip!! :)

and I have to point out (since I am so proud)...that everything was saved up and paid for in CASH!~ and is already paid for....down to a prepaid visa with $$ for food! Feels sooo good!

Our weekend getaway...

So a few posts ago I said that we wanted to start to get away more often...even if it's someplace close....just to get away and show the kids some different things....so last weekend we went on a very spur of the moment trip.
Go Deal Go had a deal for a bed and breakfast (Snowberry Inn) for $49/night...they had a family suite with a kitchen etc...sleeps at least 6....so we bought 2 nights and off we went up the Ogden canyon....we had no plans going up there but found plenty to do! We did lots of hiking/walking around Pineview Res (which is lame by the way and hardly has any water in it).....we went to The Treehouse children's museum and LOVED it.....
we drove through many very small towns like Eden, Liberty, Huntsville.....and are very grateful to live in the Suburbs.....
we ate dinner at The Oaks..which is the coolest little place up the canyon...we ate outside and our seats hung over the Ogden River....sooo cool!!!
Then we got ice cream....yummy!
We also explored Union Station and went through the museum there and played on all the trains.....
we had a blast!
The best part was that we were together as a family...
making new memories
and found fun/new things to do.

Can't wait for our next adventure!!
(p.s. Cash was also there...just not in these pics...i'll have to get the others off my phone ;)

I hands down have the best Mom in the world. I could list a million reasons why...a few are as follows: she is very thoughtful, super creative, a wonderful cook, my best friend, very smart, a hard worker, a great grandmother, an artist. She is the best hostess, has a green thumb, is beautiful, and has always allowed us to be who we are....she is probably the most non-judgemental person I know. She is always willing to help! I love that she and my Dad are going on 40 years of marriage. I love you so much Mom! And as I am typing this, Cash is going crazy seeing your picture on the screen!:)

we have been spending so much time outside as a family...and it's been a lot of fun (and cheap)...we got a Thanksgiving Pt. pass from my parents for Christmas and we have been there many times to the gardens especially! We also regularly do s'mores in the backyard....and my two scouts are finally mastering the fire-making (supervised of course).

The boys just finished their competitive basketball season and had such a great time! They are going to move on to a super league team over the Summer and Winter....they are pretty excited! We have loved going as a family to those games this April...however it's been tricky because Kai also has baseball....so we had to do some major shuffling....and quick driving here and there...but luckily he made it to all his games.
Now we are just at the ballpark 3-4 days a week....but we have so much fun there...and luckily the snack bar is cheap :)

Cash has discovered the outside...and i'm guessing this is where we will be 99% of the rest of Spring and Summer. He pounds on the back door until we go out....so he and I are pretty much out there all morning and afternoon...in for a nap :)
He just goes exploring, plays with balls, plays on the slide and in his new sandbox.
And I love just sitting out back (even though it's been chilly) listening to Pandora on my phone and reading the paper....I find it relaxing because i'm not in the house thinking I should be cleaning or something :(

Here Cash one of the days at the ballpark...he only stays in this for about 30 min....then runs around the other 2 hours! ugh.

vacation ideas?

So...Juice and I made a list the other night of things/places we want to take the kids to over the next couple of years....this year we want to do some road trips....one will be San Diego in July for a week....we are also planning our trip to Zions National Park in May....but we want some ideas for some other fun places to go...any ideas?

Our kids are busy on the weekends with sports, but we decided that we need to get away anyway.....we for sure are planning some camping trips this Summer....

I think i'm just tired of sitting around the house doing the same ol same ol :) Even if we have to stay at cheap Motel 6's and eat pb&j's...we don't care....we are getting out of dodge! :)

I love everything about this kid. He is the most creative, funny, athletic, smart and friendly kid I know!

I am SO lucky to be his mom!

I got an awesome deal on this game trailer! $90 and regularly it's almost $400.
he got to invite 16 kids to play games for 2 hours in it....
best thing ever! They all had so much fun!

it was kind of a big thing...I guess the owner keeps it on the street by his house in Draper...not sure what the neighbors think of that!

they even got to play Guitar Hero and we could all hear it outside!

Juice and I made a scavenger hunt for Kase for his birthday present....we always do these and they have so much fun with it!

it was such a great day....love celebrating these kids' birthdays because soon you get older and it's just not the same :)

Words can't describe how much I love Chloe. She is 110% unique. She does everything HER own way. She has her own sense of style... has many great friends and I think is a very nice friend to them... she ABSOLUTELY adores her baby brother and on most days would rather play with him over anyone! She is the best helper around and anticipates everyone's needs above her own. She is a Kindergartner and cannot WAIT to start 1st grade... I on the other hand will miss her tremendously during the day. Her favorite snack is wheat toast w/butter... any kind of fruit... water water water....this girl can drink her weight in water. She is a wonderful gymnast and has been dancing since she was 2.... and loves both of them! Love everything about you Chloe.... my most favorite thing is your big brown eyes.... beautiful curls.... funky style and personality... and tender heart. SOOO happy I get to be your Mom! xoxoxo

what have we been up to all week?

Puking.

Since Monday....

slowly, one by one...

each one of us has spent a good 24-36 hours sick/puking.

(even poor little Cash)

This stuff has spread like wildfire.

And I dare say that the last person has now had it...and we are on the mend....

however,

I think it is shed for about 3 days after you puke...

so we will still quarantine ourselves...

and are in the process of Lysoling the home.

So hard to one by one have each kid with stomach flu.....

sleeping in bed with you....

up all night...

miserable.

Then on to the next kid.....

and while you are doing all this....

you have it yourself...

but it doesn't really matter because you have to take care of everyone else.

bleh.

I do however know that there are much worse things than this....

and so I am able to be grateful for that.

so last Saturday I was at Oopsie Daisy in Daybreak with Chloe and they were having a model search for Secretly Spoileds' new clothing line and catalog....and so we said what the heck, and they took Chloe's picture...and announced the results today on their website and on Facebook, and she won! They picked her for their photo shoot and catalog etc...she also gets free clothes etc....so that's fun.
She's never done anything like this, so this will be a new adventure....but fun for her.

We all went to the Justin Bieber movie..and I have to admit...I like the kid a LOT LOT more after seeing it. He really is quite the musician...can play drums, piano, guitar and trumpet? I think....anyway....Chloe just LOVES his songs...and has a few girlfriends that also really like him...it's pretty cute. So I found my old iPod and erased everything and we loaded it with Radio Disney songs...Princess songs...Kids' Bop...and the Justin Bieber album. She is in heaven...and spent the entire day with her cute friend "J" dancing, dancing and singing to his music. This is such a cute age.

I forgot
to blog about this, and it's too funny.
We went to my parents' house on Christmas Day and the wonderful mother I am...forgot a bottle. My mom is stocked w/formula/wipes/diapers...and even bottles (but I had her bottles at my house...oops.)
so my mom and grandmother created a bottle for Cash.

Minute Maid juice bottle...check
nipple...check
saran wrap around bottom of nipple...check
duct tape to hold it all together....check.
and ta-da! it worked!

it started by me painting the guest room...
took me a week. and made me remember how bad I hate

got a painter's number from a friend and he gave us an
estimate we couldn't refuse....so we did the office and master bedroom...those are done.
Then we decided to paint everything....so our house has been under construction for a while now...this is what it looks

We LOVE LOVE the color we picked...we had a yellowish before...and wanted something warmer
so after MUCH MUCH research...I picked Latte from Sherwin Williams.....
my bedroom and office are Sonovar Silver from Sherwin Williams.

he said I could post this here...as he is a little slow on work right now....
his work is awesome! He patched a million nail holes in our walls and sanded
them all down before he and his partner painted.
We very much love his work.
i have never paid someone to paint for me before...so this is new.
However it is wonderful.
And when I get my house back to normal
and plastic off my countertops it will be even better.

See that star at the TOP of the Kindergarten reading ladder? That is CHLOE! She has since this picture made it up the last step and onto the "Golden Wall"....she is the first girl in all the Kindergarten classes to get to the top...and only the 3rd kid in all....We are so proud. She has to be able to speed through her sight words in less than 20 seconds...however she has never gone over 9 seconds...I know...what a champ! I just love what a great reader she is...and she really, really loves to read. She just got her first chapter book to read and can't wait! She works hard at home w/us...but I do have to say that Challenger was the key...they got her reading so quickly....and I can't say enough good things about their reading program.

All my kids have gone there and all are great readers...which I think helps w/everything...because as soon as you can read....the world is so open to what you can do...she reads each night before bed and looks forward to it...

Oh and she got a McDonalds gift card for getting to the top of the ladder...and that was so much fun to take her to spend it! She was so cute and got Cash a parfait w/her leftover money :)

I love the drive that she has inside her to do her best.....we are so proud of you Chloe!

I met my Valentine 17 years ago...

it was a dorm romance up at the U of Utah.

He played football there...he was an A student.

The U of Utah payed for 6 years of his schooling on his

athletic scholarship...but the smart guy that he is, he got his

bachelors in 4 years and then moved on to his Masters and

got them to pay for that! He also then later went on for almost 2 more

years at night to get his administrative certificate.

He is the kindest person I know. He is always willing and eager to learn.

He would help anyone. He never wants to fight (even if I try to pick fights :)

He has always watched the kids while I work...and can load up 4 kids and take then to Walmart,

then Cabellas, then McDonalds, then Costco....all in one day. Nothing seems to phase him.

He always tells me what a great Mom I am...and never ever ever has complained about anything

i've done or not done around the house..never. He could eat cereal every night for dinner if that's what I made...he

never complains. He is a Vice Principal at Jr. High school, and he knows pretty much every kids' name there...and they

all love him. My kids are so lucky to have him as a Dad. He is always doing fun stuff w/them...never ever misses a game

or a practice. And often goes straight from work, to a practice, to a game etc.

He is a fun guy to be around...and if you get him talking...he may never stop ;)

He is always trying to better our marraige....

We don't get a lot of date nights...but when the kids go to bed, we love to hang out on the

couch and watch The Food Network or HGTV together :)

I love you so much Juice...and I am so grateful that you stuck around with

me for this long :)

Can't wait for the next 17 years of our lives!

It is so much fun when I get home from work on the weekends and Cash sees me walk in the door...he hurries and crawls as fast as his little arms will carry him...and then he starts climbing up my nasty/germy scrub pant leg....I pick him up and hold him and

his arms start flapping and then he lays his head on my shoulder for a second (not longer because he is too busy)....he stares at me for a minute and smiles....then wants down...and continues playing....and while he plays he keeps looking over at me and smiling....it's my favorite thing ever.

I just LOVE that he is so happy.

Even though I hate being away from the kids when I work....it's fun for them to be with Dad, who does everything different. Different isn't bad. And over the many years of me working and being a mom....the biggest lesson I have learned is NEVER EVER COMPLAIN when Dad has the kids....it doesn't matter that he does the bathtime routine different...feeds them different foods...disciplines them differently....lets them stay up later.....what matters is that he is spending time with them. And that's all that really matters.

If you complain or try to change how the husband is with the kids when you are gone....you change the way your marriage is. You cause tension...and you risk him stopping doing what he's doing all together. Just accept that it's different (and what makes your way better anyway?)

...and tell the kids' that it's fine...

and just be happy that your children are safe and spending time with their Dad.

(just my advice from experience....we have never used daycare...and Juice has always kept the kids all weekend while I work...or all night when I did night shifts...and woke up to feed them all night)

Such a great Dad.

even if he does lay out newspaper to change the baby's poopy diapers on ...

and even if he does intensly watch the kids' eating dinner/chewing their food when i'm gone

just incase one of them were to choke.

and even if he does only use 3 inches of water to bathe Cash.

Pinewood Derby....

it is a right of passage for all parents of boys.
This was Kase's first year doing the derby for scouts..and he had so much fun. His car came in first in one heat...second in another...then fourth...he was SO SO excited and jumped around back and forth from the begining to the end of the track...it was so cute. I LOVE the look on his face in that top picture...doesn't it say it all....he was watching his car come down the track. I'll have to take a picture of his car...but on the picture below (bad pictures) it's the 3rd car...orange.
I REALLY need to start brining my camera and not rely on my dumb phone for photos...they are horrible.

remember when we were going to film that commercial at my home...I cleaned it/got rid of clutter etc...and then they cancelled? well they wanted me to email them pictures of the house...so I did (that's why I took these)....and I was just looking at them thinking how it is NEVER like this...kind of looks boring this clean anyway...so I'll probably never clean it again. Wasn't worth it. However it got me thinking that I would like to paint my office...my entire house kind of looks the same....same paint...same trim...same wood....anyone know a color that goes good with this? so that it kind of flows through the rest of the house?
Also..anyone want to paint my office for me?
I always think I like to paint...then get going and remember how bad I hate it.
maybe tomorrow i'll take a picture of what my house looks like on an average day...big difference.

I just realized I had these pictures...here is a Saturday afternoon where my kids played in the snow the entire day. It started w/Kase building a little snow fort...and turned into a fort shelter on each side of the front yard....Chloe was the "run and get this and that" girl...as you can see. She was on Kai's "team"...
Kase and his friend were on the other team....
they would sit in their little shelter w/helmets on...and launch snowballs at each other.
I sat in Chloe's room and watched out the window with Cash...he thought it was soo much fun.
We were supposed to be keeping score...but didn't...shhhh...and it ended in a tie anyway :)

Sportin her own style....

One of my most favorite things about Chloe is she has her OWN style. The rule for her usually is "if it matches, she doesn't want it"...she likes to be mis-matched....she still will only wear skirts/dresses....so she has had to find a love for leggings so she can wear them year round....she owns many pairs of leggings/tights...and I love watching what she comes up with.
At her school they have a very laid back uniform policy....white/blue collar shirt...tan/blue bottoms (pants, skirts, dress, shorts)..and they can wear any kind of tights/leggings they want.....
anyway, she was proud of her big red Valentine headband that she put in her hair...and her "Cheetah Girl" leggings...and asked if i'd take her picture :)
It's fun watching her grow into her own person...and I hope she will always stay true to herself and her style...oh and don't ever compliment her on how something matches, or she'll want to change her outfit....thanks :)

More "Me" time..and more time w/my husband.

April 30th. The day our baby boy was born. And the 5 days in the hospital after w/my husband and our new baby...we had some good talks..and had a great time getting to know our new little guy.

What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Giving birth to a healthy baby boy...Helping my baby to learn to fall asleep on his own in his crib...sleep through the night...and get on a good nap schedule (This is a huge achievement for a mother).

What was your biggest failure?

oh there are many. there really were. many that most people don't know about...that I beat myself up over...however I have learned to do the best I can and to learn from mistakes...and if there is something I can teach my children from my mistakes, then I will.

Did you suffer any illness or injury?

is pregnancy an illness/injury? sure felt like it those last few weeks!

What was the best thing you bought?

now this is funny....because 2010 for us was the year of NOT buying anything. i'm not kidding. I really am trying to think of something we bought....I would have to say our vacation in October. That was our biggest expense by far...however proud to say that it was paid for in cash :)

What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Watching our kids with our new baby...he is still the funnest thing in the world to them...we have included them in everything from day one...and it has paid off. They adore him and genuinely want to do everything for him...they find pleasure in the simplest things he does...and I just love watching them all together.

What song will always remind you of 2010?

Ugh. unfortunately Willow Smith's "I Whip My Hair Back and Forth"....hate that song....It is one that I can hear on accident and never get out of my head...yuck.

Where did most of your money go?

paying off bills. paying off bills. trying to be debt free.

Compared to this time last year are you: richer, nicer, happier?

I am richer because we are smarter with our money. We know where EVERY penny is going.
I am nicer because I am no longer pregnant.
I am happier than last year because I am alive...and everyday that I am alive..I am happy. Something I have ALWAYS believed in is that YOU are in charge of your own happiness. You don't say "so and so doesn't make me happy" you are not a victim. If you are not happy, do something about it. Don't let anyone take your happy!

What do you wish you'd done more of?

Worrying. I spent a large portion of this last year worrying about many things...and everything now is falling into place..and our hard work is paying off. I am really working on not worrying...and just taking life a day at a time and focusing on what I CAN do something about.

How did you spend Christmas?

as a family. with family. the best way.
also got to spend Christmas with Juice's grandmother for the first time ever. it was so much fun.

Did you fall in love in 2010?

yep. 9 months ago today I fell in love with a little 8 lb 2 oz baby boy...and am more and more in love each day.

anything on the Food Network or Bravo. I don't watch one minute of TV until the kids are asleep in bed. Mostly because I don't like to be interrupted a million times ;) but also because life is too busy for TV during the day....at night I will watch brainless shows...love them.

oh gosh. we are bad at seeing movies. hmmmm Tangled?

What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?

I turned 36. My entire family went to Cheesecake Factory....my daughter Chloe had the day off of school because it was a Friday and we went out shopping and to lunch that day. Perfect day.

How would you describe your personal fashion concept for 2010?

fashion? hmmm...maternity clothes....then post maternity clothes...and now trying to find some fashion.

What kept you sane?

my husband and kids. parents. neighbors and friends.

Who do you miss?

I miss my grandma and grandpa J. I would give anything to have my kids meet them and have Coke and crackers and cheese at their house. So glad my husband got to meet my grandmother (great). I tell the kids about them all the time. I made saltines w/peanut butter on it the other day for Chloe and told her we used to do that at their house...it was fun to pass the memories on to her.

Tell us a valuable lesson you learned in 2010?

I learned SOO many things this last year.
I learned that there is always room in your heart for another child.
I learned that the best times that we have spent as a family this past year were things we did at home that didn't cost a penny.
I learned that it's your UNDIVIDED attention that your children truly want. They want you to REALLY listen to them and not rush them along.
I learned that when you are on the exact same page w/your husband w/everything in life it brings you so much closer and your marriage so much stronger.
I learned to not judge people based on 2nd hand information...and that if I have a problem w/someone I will go directly to that person.
I learned that some people lie...and always will.
I learned that some people don't want you to be happy...and those people are not your friends.
I learned that I need to stay off the computer until my kids are in bed/napping-because they fall down the stairs when I am not watching....and also they are my priority.
I learned that you don't have to like everyone. But you really should be kind to people.
I learned that you REALLY never know what is going on in some one's home. There are many people out there that are not as they appear...and don't ever assume anything.
I learned how great it feels to give.
I learned how to admit failure...but then try again...and again.
I learned how important good friends are to my children...and love them all.
I learned that you really can live a life on a budget...even though it sucks.
I learned how nice it is to have parents that you can talk to about anything.
I learned how much my husband loves me...and how incredibly much I love him.

New car!

Here is our new car/truck/thing. I have a hard time saying I have a "truck"..but it's not really a car...it's an SUV...but that sounds so suburbia to say "here's our new SUV"...so anyway....

I love love love everything about it....it has more than we were looking for.

My favorite parts are:

1. the color (it's not silver)...it's hard to tell from the picture...but it's more of a brownish/metallic/charcoal color...
2. the heated front and second row seats....
3. leather (a must for kids)
4. DVD entertainment system that came w/the car/truck...it plays movies through all the speakers in surround sound...I know...crazy. AND...it keeps the kids very entertained so there is no fighting/killing/bugging each other. (by the way...this was not something we were looking for...but a bonus!)
5. auto car starter w/the push of a button on my keychain...it also starts the heater up and turns the seat warmers on...so cool.
6. push a button and the seats in the back fold up, flip over...etc...
7. a tow kit so we can someday get a trailer and go camping and pull it ourselves...
8. 2nd row bucket seats so it's easy to get to the back row....
9. it is used but in perfect condition! was just detailed!
10. soooo smooth to drive on the freeway....

anyway...I just love it. It's much more me, I think. My van was great and will make it's new family very happy...but my boys are getting bigger and this suits us more....
can hardly wait for our first road trip and to go camping!

Today we were asked if Provo Craft could film a commercial in our home on Friday...they would need our Kitchen/great room area...and office....
The best part is that we DON'T have to be in the commercial!
And we get paid for them using our home for 6 hours.

he is so sensitive to Cash's needs...he is gentle and sweet. He reads to him, shows him things around the house...helps him up/down...shows him the bird/fish/cat....
I have never seen Kase get frustrated at Cash...they are going to grow up to be great buddies.

1" binder and pocket inserts from Target

everything is labeled...down to my formula coupons...
I keep the newspaper inserts in here...I don't clip the coupons yet
because there are websites that will tell you what to use at
what store to get the best deal...and they tell you page numbers..
so not a good idea to clip your coupons.
The inserts last about 6 weeks....newer ones at the back.
I got name brand toilet paper for $1.99 for a 12 pack...
I know!
If you don't use your newspaper coupon inserts, I would love them...and I would pick them up from your house.

I had no idea Chloe would like gymnastics as much as she does...she NEVER ever complains
about going..and you know how great THAT is!
She is also going 2 days a week because she got moved up into another level...
and has lots of "big girls" in her class...which she thinks is so much fun.
Anyway....I was trying to get a picture of her in one of her new leotards...but she wouldn't hold still...

Oh and the BEST part about gymnastics is she is at Black Diamond which was just built in our neighborhood....

work on some "me" time each day
stay away from and out of neighbors or friends' childish drama
if I don't want to do something..just kindly say "no" and don't think I have to have a reason
turn my cell phone off most of the day...I am NOT on-call 24-7 (I am on call enough for work)
spend time this year teaching my kids about all different types of people and many different beliefs
focus on myself first, my husband, my children and family

So my husband and I were starting to save to get a new computer...however we hadn't gotten too far since most of our "spare" change was spent on Christmas...
well, my very kind and generous parents bought us a very nice new HP desktop computer....it has all the bells and whistles...I love it...and I am typing on it now...can you tell? ha...j/k

here they are in their new Christmas jammies!
They are loving every moment w/their new baby brother Cash....
everything he babbles they say "Cash just said _________!" like spaghetti, horse, Peterson...etc...ha!

Everything that we have done around the Christmas season this year has been prefaced with "this is Cash's FIRST time ever picking out his own ornament" or "putting cookies out for Santa!" ....
Juice and I are so grateful to have 4 healthy/smart/beautiful children.

Today she had a "mini" program for parents....they don't do a Christmas program there because they want the kids to start out learning technique for the first few months...and not simply choreography, so they put together a mini dance w/some of their moves...

what I really LOVE is that she absolutely LOVES LOVES dance...and works very, very hard when she's in class....she told me the other night when we were watching a Christmas show that she wants to be a Rockette when she grows up! ha!

She has a big recital at Kingsbury Hall in June...which is an ALL day event..I hear...but will be a lot of fun!
I really really love UDA and if you are looking for a quality/very professional/and yet still lots of fun dance company for your child...you should check it out...they have a brand new studio in South Jordan...so it's just minutes away. She started dancing when she was 2 1/2 at Stars..but they closed down in July...so we had to find a new place, and it was a very good thing because this place is great.

For now we are starting w/ballet here...and next year will add more classes...because she also loves gymnastics..and I have 3 other kids to run around places...so you know...have to simplify.

So....the reason I haven't posted anything fun w/pictures lately is our desktop computer bit the dust...after 10+ yrs....I know we have been lucky that it was around that long...and luckily before it died we saved our stuff again to our external hard drive....

I am borrowing my brothers' laptop...but it is old and runs Linux...and can't do a whole lot (like download anything....not even my pictures :( ) but I am grateful to have it so that I can at least get online to pay bills etc....

So I guess once Christmas is over we will need to start saving for a new computer....so for now I am limited to my phone and pics I can take on there...which are not great when taken inside...

The great news is I finally got our fax machine up and running!! (ok..so I was really stretching for good news...computer related)
